Shoot the wind forecastors who said the wind would be afternoon! Had to be
home at 3pm so thought I wouldn't sail but wind kicked in 11am and am
faffing doing chores. Dropped everything and on arrival yep, Coles Mexome
Squiz Roger and a few others were ripping it great conditions. Rigged 6.7M
/ 120 JP excite ride pro and yep the wind dropped be4 I got on the board.
Rigged 7.7 Pryde Hellcat / 146L JP EX R pro and had a great session for an
hour then the poxy wind died. Runs were much better than yesterday as it
was easy to stay high. Loads out sailing, tide was low coming in, plenty of
sun, so would have been nice to stay longer. Yet again I loaded the 50cm
MFC race fin which just didn't perform on the broad reaches. After fitting
the 48cm to try wind died and ran out of time.
Now using the waist harness for every sail bar the 8.7 / 9.4 and today hit
25.72 kts in rough water so happy my arms could lockdown. That's the
negative I think of the waist H you really have to hang out to lock down,
but its great going thru the river mouth standing up and am sure its why my
gybe percentage is very high. Today I pulled off 2 flat out strap to strap
planning gybes on the big 146 which normally lose speed badly.
Went back for a walk with family and Ian who arrived late was bleeding the
wind dry with some good runs alone, tanking down to the river mouth
